what are the symptoms of SINUSITIS ?

The four pairs of sinuses that everyone has are normally filled with air. However when we develop a cold, they become inflamed1 so that the mucus that normally traps dirt and bacteria2 expands, congesting the nose. There are symptoms of sinusitis that you can look out for to ensure early treatment:

Sinusitis usually takes 2 and a half weeks to fully recover from.2 Whilst you can take care of this at home, it’s best to see your GP if symptoms last longer than this.

· You may feel pain and tenderness in the facial sinuses particularly the area on and around your cheekbones.3,4
· The nose can become blocked or runny.3,4
· High temperatures lead to a fever.1,4
· Headaches will occur more often than usual.1,4

· You may begin to feel uncomfortable and painful pressure in the ears.
