Otrivin Seawater with Eucalyptus

During a cold the inflammatory process results in the swelling of the nasal mucosa, blocked nose and increased mucus production. The *Hypertonic seawater creates a pressure difference between the solution and the mucous membrane (osmotic effect), helping to reduce the swelling of the nasal passages. The product also softens and loosens the excess mucus by the mechanical action of the spray on the nasal cavities helping to remove bacteria and viruses from the nose. The *Hypertonic seawater solutions differ from isotonic sea water solutions as the sea salt concentration is optimized at 2.2% to effectively relieve nasal congestion. This concentration also ensures that the solution is gentle enough to be compatible with the nasal mucosa.

Ingredients and Instructions for Use

Otrivin Seawater with Eucalyptus is suitable for children over 6 years of age and adults. Ingredients: Natural hypertonic seawater (2.2% sea salt concentration) with Eucalyptus essential oil and menthol extracted from Mentha arvensis (aroma). Preservative free. Propellant gas free. Otrivin Seawater with Eucalyptus nasal spray is available in a 20 ml metered dose spray.

Before you use Otrivin Seawater with Eucalyptus nasal spray:

  • Do not use a broken or damaged product.
  • Do not use if the device has lost its original appearance.
  • Do not use the product in case of allergy to any of the ingredients.
  • Consult a doctor before using the spray following a nasal operation or injury.
  • Do not use the product in a child below 6 years of age.
  • Do not use the product during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
  • Do not use in case of asthma.

  • How to Use Otrivin Seawater with Eucalyptus

    For children over 6 years of age and adults: 2 to 3 sprays in each nostril up to 6 times a day.

    Directions for use:

    1. Blow the nose.
    2. Shake the bottle before use.
    3. Remove the protective cap of the spray, see Figure 1.
    4. Before using for the first time, prime the pump by performing a few pumping motions until an even spray is released into the air. Be careful not to spray in the eyes or mouth.
    5. Hold the bottle upright with thumb under base and nozzle between two fingers.
    6. Lean the head forward slightly and insert the nozzle into the nostril.
    7. Spray while breathing and breathe in gently through the nose.
    8. Repeat in the other nostril.
    9. Allow the product to act for a few minutes. Do not blow the nose during this time, but wipe it if necessary.
    10. Then, blow the nose if needed.

    For hygienic reasons, in order to avoid contamination:

    • After each use, wash the nozzle with hot water, dry it and put the protective cap back on.

    • The spray should only be used by one person. Use by more than one person may spread infection.

    Keep the product out of the reach and sight of children.

    Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the packaging.

    Do not use the product for more than 6 months after first opening.

    Store between 0 °C and 25 °C. Store in the original package.
